Timing belt: interference engine on the 32-valve cars (S4 onward). A failure means an engine. The invoice must be recent and legible.
Electrical complexity: ageing looms, model-specific control units, electronics that are unobtainable or priced accordingly.
Rear wheel bearings and the Weissach rear axle: normal wear, specialist setup.
Five-speed manual: rare, and paid well above the automatic.
