Generation-level points, not observations about this car. Only a pre-purchase inspection speaks for the individual car. MODEL KNOWLEDGE

997.1: IMS and bore scoring, same checks as the 996. Borescoping is not optional.
997.2: no IMS, but direct injection demands service discipline and attention to cold-running roughness.
PDK versus manual: the collector market pays more for the manual, daily use prefers PDK. That is a value decision, not a taste one.
PCCB ceramic brakes: discs run to tens of thousands per axle. A PCCB car with worn discs is not a bargain.
Service bulletins and dealer history: on a car of this age, history is worth more than mileage.
